Grant Availability & Selection
- Funding is limited and not always available.
- Applications not selected are held for 60 days; you may reapply afterward.
- Awards may be partial or issued as gift cards.
- Applications are reviewed based on urgency and need; selection is not guaranteed.
- Previous recipients within the last 8 months are reviewed case by case.
- Decisions may take up to 6 weeks.
Applicant Responsibilities
- Applicants must provide accurate contact information and respond promptly if selected.
- Failure to respond may result in forfeiture of assistance.
- Applicants must treat SMT Crisis staff and partners with respect. Disrespectful behavior may result in disqualification.
- SMT Crisis reserves the right to revoke assistance if information provided is false or misleading.
- Notify us at smtcassistance@gmail.comif assistance is no longer needed.
Program Requirements
- Awarded recipients must attend one partnered financial literacy, budgeting, or workforce development program.
- By submitting an application, you agree to all program terms and policies.
Use of Grant Funds (If Awarded)
- Funds must be used only for temporary housing.
- All expenses must be documented and provided upon request.
- Any unused funds must be returned.
- Changes to fund usage require prior approval.
- Any legal or ethical issues must be reported immediately.
Misuse of funds may result in revocation, legal action, or other consequences.
Property & Liability Disclaimer
- Grant recipients may not sublet or allow unauthorized occupants without written approval.
- SMT Crisis is not responsible for property damage incurred during housing assistance.
- By accepting assistance, recipients acknowledge and accept this disclaimer.
Privacy & Data Protection
- SMT Crisis does not sell personal information.
- All data is protected using SSL encryption and stored in compliance with Virginia state law.
- Information is collected only as necessary and retained only as long as required.
- Application submission enrolls you in our email list (opt-out available at any time).
Media & Likeness Agreement
By accepting grant assistance, recipients grant SMT Crisis permission to use their name, image, or likeness for promotional purposes on our website and social media without compensation. This agreement is governed by Virginia law.
Online Services & Terms
- Website content may not be copied without written permission.
